What is Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana?

Eligibility for the scheme
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The scheme was launched in 2015 with the objective of providing skills training to youth and making them employable.
Under the PMKVY, training is imparted through various training partners such as Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs), Short Term Training Providers (STTPs), etc. A large number of candidates have been trained under the scheme and have been placed in jobs.
The scheme is open to all Indian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years. There is no restriction on educational qualifications. Candidates who have undergone training under any other government schemes can also apply for the PMKVY.
